Overview
A private elderly individual seeks to hire an experienced caregiver to live-in and provide support within their household and to her needs. The successful candidate will be professional, and caring, and have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a private home as a caregiver/companion. Someone with a loving, gentle personality and the ability to stay organized would be ideal for this couple.
Responsibilities:
- Support the principal with any needs throughout the day
- Organize and administer medications.
- Keep things orderly in the house
- Help with cooking and serving meals on the table
- Engage in conversation
- Assist with various tasks around the home
- Basic computer skills required (must be able to send emails and texts to communicate with the family as needed)
- Accompany the principal with outdoor walks, appointments, social gatherings or family events
- Occasional running of errands, i.e., picking up prescriptions, etc.
Schedule: 8-10-hour Shift working Monday – Friday. With the flexibility to work weekends if needed for any emergencies on the property
Live in locations: Greenwood, VA, Sun Valley, ID, and Hobe Sound, FL. Summer in Idaho, winter in Hobe Sound, Fall and Spring on the farm in VA. There is a private two bedroom cottage offered in Hope sound and Greenwood, VA. In Sun Valley, ID private room offered in the main home in a separate wing.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience in a private home with an individual as a caregiver or companion and with a client with dementia.
- Excellent references are required from current and previous employers
- CNA license is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be energetic, efficient, and hardworking
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed, ability to live-in since the couple lives between three locations.
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and non-verbal
- Spanish or Portuguese speaking is a huge plus
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
