What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Consultant position at Lily & Oak Wellness Spa?
Job Summary
Join us as a Social Media Consultant and become a vital part of our vibrant team! Your creativity will inspire audiences in the aesthetic, beauty, and wellness industries while your strategic insights will drive bookings and measurable results that elevate our brand’s digital footprint.
We are seeking a creative, self-directed Social Media Consultant to own our Instagram and Facebook presence and elevate our brand online. You'll plan, create, and publish content that reflects our brand, promotes our services and memberships, and, most importantly - drives bookings. This part-time consultant role is a chance to shape our digital voice during an exciting rebranding and contribute directly to our marketing success.
This is a role for someone who works independently, brings ideas to the table, and treats social media as a business channel, not just a creative outlet.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an organic social strategy for Instagram and Facebook aligned with brand goals, promotions, seasonal campaigns, and membership launches
- Build and maintain a monthly content calendar
- Create and publish 3–5 feed posts per week (Reels, carousels, static posts) plus regular Stories
- Capture original photo and video content on-site in a working spa environment (approximately 1–2 scheduled content days per month, plus event coverage as needed)
- Write captions in our brand voice with strong hooks and clear calls to action
- Schedule posts and monitor engagement using Meta Business Suite or similar tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer)
- Engage with followers and local community accounts to build loyalty; respond to comments and DMs within one business day, routing booking inquiries to our front desk
- Conduct social listening on audience sentiment, industry trends, and competitor activity to inform content
- Deliver a concise monthly performance report - follower growth, reach, engagement, link clicks, and, critically, inquiries and bookings attributable to social - and recommend adjustments based on what's actually converting
- Coordinate with our marketing agency as needed (which handles SEO, website, and paid search) so organic social supports the broader strategy
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing social media for a small business, ideally in beauty, wellness, aesthetics, or hospitality - portfolio or account examples required
- Strong Reels and short-form video skills: you can shoot, edit, and produce content that stops the scroll
- Excellent writer with an eye for elevated, on-brand visuals and meticulous proofreading
- Proficient with Meta Business Suite, scheduling tools, and Instagram/Facebook analytics; comfortable making data-driven decisions
- Skilled with media editing tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar)
- Self-managing and adaptable: you bring a plan, execute it, and report on it without constant direction
- Local to the Philadelphia Main Line area (or close enough for regular content days)
- Bonus: med spa or skincare content experience, UGC production, or influencer/partner coordination
What You Won't Do
To keep this role focused: You will NOT handle paid advertising, SEO, website management, and Google Business Profile - those are handled separately. This role is 100% organic social on Instagram and Facebook.
Compensation & Structure
- Monthly consultant retainer of $600–$1,200, commensurate with experience and agreed scope — please include your rate or rate range with your application
- Estimated 8–12 hours per week
- Initial 3-month engagement with clear deliverables, renewable based on results
- Complimentary and discounted spa services
Join us as our Social Media Consultant: your creativity will inspire audiences across beauty and wellness, and your strategic insight will drive bookings and measurable results that elevate our brand.
