Duties

• Prepare surfaces through sanding, scraping, caulking, plastering, drywall installation, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute painting projects according to specifications.
• Apply paint using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional spray equipment), and other hand tools to achieve smooth, even finishes.
• Perform construction surface preparation tasks such as patching holes, sealing cracks, and priming surfaces for painting or coating applications.
• Execute a variety of painting techniques including residential painting, commercial painting, industrial coating applications, and restoration projects.
• Use ladders safely to reach high areas while adhering to all safety regulations and respiratory protection protocols.
• Select appropriate paints and coatings based on color theory principles and project requirements; conduct visual color comparisons for consistency.
• Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling disposal of materials and cleaning tools after each project.
• Follow safety regulations diligently by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), adhering to safety protocols on construction sites, and ensuring compliance with all health standards.
• Assist with fixture installation, drywall finishing, masonry work such as stucco or concrete finishing, and minor carpentry tasks like trim or frame carpentry when needed.
• Collaborate with team members to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately for seamless project execution.

Experience

• Proven experience in construction painting including surface preparation, coating application, and finishing techniques across residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
• Familiarity with construction estimating processes related to painting projects is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of color theory for effective color matching and visual consistency in various environments.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless spray systems), brushes, rollers, and scaffolding equipment like ladders.
• Experience interpreting blueprints or schematics for precise project planning and execution.
• Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction site work including respiratory protection and proper PPE usage.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations accurately.
• Background in related trades such as carpentry (trim or framing), drywall installation/finishing, plastering or masonry enhances versatility on complex projects.
• Construction site experience with a focus on renovation or restoration projects is highly valued.
