Responsibilities
- Responsible for completing work orders related to the physical maintenance and repair of assigned buildings using work order software programs
- Responsible for implementing routine physical improvements
- Respond to emergencies in accordance with departmental protocols
- Assist Supervisor in establishing and maintaining inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies, and keeping logs up to date
- Collaborate with the Supervisor to implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan and maintain related records and logs
- Assist with controlling expenses associated with the operation of the buildings
- Effectively communicate building status and changes to the appropriate individuals
- Adhere to all safety standards, policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and best practices
- Consistently act professionally and courteously with tenants, hospital clients, co-workers, vendors, patients, and other stakeholders to ensure respectful and effective interactions
- Utilize materials, supplies, tools, and other building property in a safe and productive manner
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- 3 years of related work experience and technical training required; 5 years of related work experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training in maintenance-related courses preferred
- CFC Handling Certification preferred
- Strong communication skills required
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Working knowledge of tools and their proper use, with a strong focus on safety.
- 24-hour availability for emergencies and participation in on-call rotation
- Capable of extensive walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting/carrying a minimum of 50 pounds with proper body mechanics
- Willingness to work overtime for special projects as required
- Ability to understand and interpret design documents, manufacturer’s specifications, and written operational procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster effective teamwork and maintain positive relationships with clients, tenants, and co-workers
- Ability to work independently and organize/prioritize tasks to ensure accuracy and timely completion
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software
