Job Purpose

The Learning & Organizational Development (L&OD) Intern will support the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning and development initiatives that strengthen employee performance, engagement, and organizational effectiveness. This internship provides hands‑on exposure to real‑world L&OD work while building foundational skills in adult learning, training support, and organizational development practices.

The Learning & Organizational Development Team Focuses On Developing LT's Organizational Capability To Effectively Meet Its Goals By Aligning Strategy, Structure, Processes, And Talent Development. We Do This Through Two Main Work Functions

  • Managing org-wide Learning & Development (L&D) programs and services
  • Stewarding internal performance and change processes that support organizational health and alignment

Learning Objectives

  • Gain exposure to instructional design basics.
  • Learn how learning programs are designed, implemented, and evaluated.
  • Exposure to systems and applications related to training and development.
  • Receive mentorship and feedback from experienced L&OD professionals.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and updating of training materials, job aids, presentations, and learning resources.
  • Support the coordination and logistics of training sessions, workshops, and learning events.
  • Help collect, organize, and analyze learning data (e.g., attendance, feedback, surveys, evaluations).
  • Assist with content management in learning platforms or shared repositories.
  • Observe and support facilitation and organizational development activities as appropriate.
  • Perform general administrative and project support tasks related to L&OD initiatives.

Other Duties

  • Adheres to internship program guidelines and supports department needs as assigned. Completes a variety of tasks that provide broad exposure to departmental workflows. Actively builds new skills, strengthens existing abilities, and applies learning to real‑world projects and responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Education, Business, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative

Preferred

  • Interest in learning & development, talent development, or organizational effectiveness

Work Schedule & Location

  • Estimated timeframe: June–July 2026
  • Weekly schedule: 35–40 hours per week
  • Location: Onsite / Liliʻuonamoku 1100 Alakea St. Honolulu, HI 96813
