Essential Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for enterprise software delivery and systems integration, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with LT’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Own and manage the software delivery intake and prioritization process, balancing organizational demand, risk, capacity, and value to maintain a transparent, achievable roadmap.
- Establish and continuously improve the delivery operating model (SDLC/Agile practices, release management, quality standards, documentation, and change enablement) to improve speed, predictability, and quality.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing delivery team (e.g., Software Architect, Solutions Engineer, Software Engineer, Sr. Systems Analyst), fostering accountability, learning, and excellent customer partnership.
- Partner with departmental leaders and frontline teammates to understand workflows and outcomes, translate needs into clear requirements, and deliver user-centered solutions that reduce administrative burden.
- Govern solution architecture and integrations across LT’s business ecosystem (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft 365 Suite, NetSuite, Dayforce), ensuring interoperability, data quality, auditability, and long-term supportability in collaboration with Infrastructure & Cybersecurity and Data Management & Analytics.
- Ensure high-quality data capture within delivered solutions by partnering with the Director of Data Management & Analytics to align on data definitions and KPIs, implement appropriate validation and workflow controls (e.g., required fields, business rules, audit trails), and reduce duplicate or conflicting sources of truth across Salesforce, Microsoft 365, NetSuite, Dayforce, and related systems.
- Manage software delivery vendors and partners; support budgeting and contract oversight; and collaborate with the Managing Director, IT to identify strategic opportunities, manage delivery risk, and advance LT’s enterprise technology roadmap.
- Contributes to the Trustʻs success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improves team and organization results.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree a plus.
- 10 years of progressive experience delivering enterprise applications and integrations (build/buy), including at least 3 years in a people leadership role.
- Demonstrated leadership in building and managing high-performing teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and developing clear goals, role clarity, and accountability.
- Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence across departments, set expectations, manage tradeoffs, and lead organizational change to drive adoption of new systems and ways of working.
- Demonstrated software architecture leadership, including defining and maintaining architectural standards, design principles, and integration patterns for enterprise systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of integration architectures (APIs, middleware, ETL/data flows), and the ability to guide solution design, review vendor technical designs, and ensure maintainable documentation (e.g., diagrams, data flows, interface specifications).
- Ability to assess technical risk and guide architecture-level strategies for resilience, reliability, and performance while partnering with Infrastructure & Cybersecurity to ensure security standards and regulatory requirements are met.
- Demonstrated expertise in modern software delivery practices (SDLC, Agile delivery, testing/QA, release management, change enablement) and in establishing repeatable delivery standards that improve speed and quality.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional delivery with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translate business requirements into implementable solutions, and manage a portfolio of initiatives and vendors while ensuring security, privacy, and compliance-by-design.
- Prior hands-on experience as a software engineer (e.g., designing, building, testing, and supporting production applications) with an ability to coach engineers and make sound technical tradeoffs.
