Job Summary
Lil' Sprouts Early Learning Center is seeking passionate and energetic Assistant Teachers to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this dynamic role, you will support classroom teachers by assisting with daily activities, engaging with children across different age groups, and ensuring a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment. As a floating caregiver, you will have the opportunity to work with students from multiple classrooms. Your enthusiasm for early childhood development and commitment to fostering positive learning experiences will help create an enriching atmosphere for every child. Duties

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans that promote literacy, math, and overall childhood development aligned with curriculum standards such as Montessori or preschool frameworks.
  • Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping maintain a calm, organized environment conducive to learning and exploration.
  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities that develop social skills, fine and gross motor skills, and early literacy and numeracy competencies.
  • Help with daily routines including diapering, potty training, snack time, nap time, and outdoor play to ensure safety and comfort for all children.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt instructional strategies for children with special needs or disabilities.
  • Participate in curriculum development efforts by providing feedback on activities that resonate with children’s interests and developmental stages.
  • Maintain clear communication with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and needs through regular updates and documentation.
  • Support classroom setup and cleanup to ensure a clean, safe, and inviting learning environment at all times.
  • Assist in supervising children during special events to ensure safety and engagement.
  • Start time 12:00pm/1:00pm (flexible), must be able to work until 6:00pm.

Experience

  • Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, private school settings or similar environments is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education principles such as childhood development theories, behavior management strategies, and classroom management techniques.
  • Experience working with children who have special needs or disabilities.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development for preschool or toddler care programs.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, parents, and specialists.
  • Previous classroom experience involving hands-on learning opportunities.
  • Ability to adapt quickly across different classrooms as a floater while maintaining consistency in quality care and instruction.
  • Certification in first aid/CPR is a plus; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is encouraged.
  • Must speak English, bilingual is a plus.
  • Must by 18 years of age or older.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
