We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and ledger maintenance using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure accuracy between bank statements and internal records.
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare financial reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Maintain detailed records of financial transactions, including debits & credits, account analysis, and journal entries.
- Assist with financial report writing, balance sheet reconciliation, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards across governmental or non-profit sectors as applicable.
Skills
- Extensive experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, governmental accounting practices, and non-profit accounting standards.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), 10 key typing skills, and data analysis for accurate account reconciliation.
- Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, account analysis, and journal entry posting.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliation tasks, and balance sheet reconciliation efficiently.
- Experience with payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, and financial report writing.
- Familiarity with GAAP standards and technical accounting concepts to ensure compliance across all financial activities.
