Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Nutritionist to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preperation, knowledge of food safety and be skilled in cooking for a large amount of food at one time. This role will primarily focus on providing nutritional snacks and meals for the children enrolled in the daycare throughout the day. The Nutritionist / Lead Cook will work collaboratively with the teachers to ensure that each child is served meals in a timely manner, order groceries weekly, keep the kitchen tidy and clean by washing and sanitizing dishes as well as surfaces in the kitchen. This job requires someone who is dedicated to working every day, punctual, caring, upbeat and an overall amazing person to be around. Free childcare for your own children!!
Responsibilities
- Developing and planning meals according to the USDA food program that meet the requirements.
- Order groceries from the supplier, local discount store and keep inventory of food in the kitchen area.
- Ability to make up a menu on Cooks Choice Week.
- Prepare, Plate, Serve food to each group of children according to their specific needs. (ie: toddlers - cut food into small pieces etc)
- Clean dishes daily after each meal and snack
- Help keep laundry going throughout the day (put in washer / dryer)
- Help Clean the eating area if needed
- Enjoy children and be a fun person wanting a wonderful place to work each day.
Experience
- Food service a plus but willing to train the right person.
- Completed and passed Safe Serve class but willing to help obtain if needed
- Ability to prepare different types of meals
- Prior knowledge of using a receipe
- Drivers license - if we need more food or milk and we need someone to run to the store
- Ability to follow simple steps for food prep and sanitation

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
