What are the responsibilities and job description for the (Sr./Principal) Analog IC Designer position at LightXcelerate?
About LightXcelerate
LightXcelerate is building next-generation optical interconnect technology for AI and high-performance computing. Our platform brings optical connectivity closer to compute, enabling higher bandwidth density, lower latency, and better energy efficiency for future GPU, XPU, and chiplet-scale systems.
Role
We are looking for a (Sr./Principal) Analog IC Designer to lead the design of high-speed optical front-end circuits, including VCSEL/laser drivers, TIAs, limiting amplifiers, equalizers, bias circuits, and calibration/control blocks. This is a hands-on silicon design role for someone who can take blocks from architecture through tapeout, bring-up, and validation.
Responsibilities
- Design high-speed analog/mixed-signal circuits for optical I/O systems.
- Optimize for bandwidth, noise, jitter, power, area, and PVT robustness.
- Work closely with optical, packaging, and system teams on electro-optical co-design.
- Support tapeout, lab bring-up, debugging, and high-speed characterization.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in high-speed analog or mixed-signal IC design.
- Experience with one or more of: laser drivers, TIAs, limiting amplifiers, broadband amplifiers, equalizers, or high-speed analog front-ends.
- Hands-on experience with advanced CMOS or FinFET nodes.
- Proven silicon experience from design through tapeout and bring-up.
- Strong understanding of broadband analog design, noise, jitter, layout parasitics, and signal integrity.
- Optical link, VCSEL, photodiode, or packaging experience is a strong plus.
- MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
