As an MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit) Project Manager at Lightworx Fiber, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our customer engagement and ensuring the successful execution of projects and programs for a portfolio of accounts primarily located throughout the East Coast region. Candidates located on or near the East Coast are strongly preferred due to project alignment and travel needs.
This dynamic and customer-facing position demands exceptional leadership, communication, team building, and organizational as well as an overall understanding of our products and services. You will have responsibility for leading and directing the project execution teams for assigned accounts. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by overseeing various aspects of project execution from equipment startup through product end of life and will lead efforts to enhance the customer experience by providing superior customer service.
Projects are primarily located across the East Coast and require approximately 60%–70% travel to support project execution, customer engagement, and collaboration with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Execution: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables. Develop detailed schedules.
- Budget & Resource Management: Forecast, track, and control project finances. Allocate personnel, equipment, and materials efficiently.
- Site Acquisition & Construction: Coordinate site surveys, manage fiber optic plant construction (OSP/ISP), and oversee hardware installation (e.g., routers, switches).
- Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular status updates to clients and senior management, handling escalations, conflicts, and vendor relations.
- Risk Mitigation & Compliance: Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans. Ensure all installations meet regulatory, industry, and safety standards.
- Quality Control & Testing: Ensure network performance by facilitating testing (e.g., NRFU, fiber splicing) and producing close-out documentation
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent practical experience required. Background in Telecommunications, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 3–7 years of experience in project management, specifically in telecommunications infrastructure, site acquisition, or construction.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with FTTX technologies, GPON, VoIP, LAN/WAN networks, and fiber optic design.
- Certifications (preferred, not required): Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar project management credential is a plus.
- Skills: Proficiency in MS Project/Smartsheet and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
