The Role
We are looking for a Technical Artist to help bridge the gap between Art, Design, and Engineering on our new AAA First-person Shooter IP.
This role will focus on building tools, workflows, and technical solutions that enable the art team to create high-quality content efficiently while maintaining strong runtime performance.
You will work closely with artists and engineers to help solve production challenges, optimize assets, and establish scalable pipelines that support both internal development and outsourced contributions.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the technical art foundation of a new AAA project, helping unlock production velocity while ensuring visual quality and performance targets are met.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Art, Design, and Engineering to develop efficient content creation pipelines
- Build tools and workflows that help artists produce assets more efficiently
- Help identify and solve technical challenges that impact art production
- Support the integration of assets into Unreal Engine and ensure they meet technical standards
- Assist with the optimization of assets to maintain performance targets
- Develop and maintain shaders, materials, and technical solutions that support the visual direction of the game
- Work with production and art leadership to ensure scalable pipelines that support both internal and outsourced asset creation
- Help define technical standards and best practices for art production
- Troubleshoot technical issues affecting artists and content integration
- Contribute to building production methodologies that will scale as the team grows
Requirements
- Experience working as a Technical Artist on shipped AAA games
- Strong understanding of real-time rendering and game engine pipelines
- Experience working in Unreal Engine
- Proficiency with shader development, materials, and real-time optimization techniques
- Experience building tools or scripts that improve production workflows
- Strong understanding of asset pipelines across modeling, texturing, and environment art
- Ability to communicate effectively across art and engineering disciplines
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to production challenges
- Comfortable working in an evolving development environment
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting first-person shooters
- Experience building scalable pipelines for outsourced asset production
- Scripting experience in Python, Blueprint, or other relevant tools
- Experience developing procedural workflows or automation tools
- Experience optimizing assets for performance across multiple platforms
- Experience working on live service or multiplayer titles
