SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for personnel, management, and coordination of nursing service activities for CSU nursing area in accordance with established philosophy, objectives and policies of the CSU facility to ensure safe, efficient, and therapeutic client care. Also, assign and supervise the nursing duties of all CSU nurses, structure and evaluate the utilization of all CSU nursing staff time. Responsible for maintaining the quality and adequacy of nursing practice; for recognizing and solving professional , administrative, and supervisory problems. Ensures that Physician Orders are followed correctly and keeps the Director of Emergency Services, psychiatrist, and Chief Medical Officer informed about the activities and problems of unit operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Florida Licensed RN with 5 years nursing experience in a psychiatric setting and 3 years in a managerial supervisory or leadership role. Bachelor degree in Nursing preferred.
BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT:
- Employment with Lightshare is contingent upon the ability to successfully pass and maintain eligibility under all required background screening standards and clearance requirements established by applicable regulatory and oversight agencies, including but not limited to the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), and the Florida Department of Corrections (DOC).
- Effective July 1, 2026, all applicants must be eligible to pass background screenings and maintain clearance with AHCA, DCF, and DOC as a condition of employment. Failure to meet or maintain these requirements may result in disqualification from employment consideration or separation from employment.
- Employees hired prior to July 1, 2026, who were eligible for employment under previous screening standards, will be grandfathered with respect to their original hire eligibility. However, all employees are required to maintain ongoing eligibility with all applicable agencies. Any incident, finding, or change in status that results in an employee becoming ineligible for clearance with AHCA, DCF, DOC, or any other agency required for the performance of their job duties may result in corrective action, up to and including termination of employment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:
- Provides direct supervision of nurses and behavioral health techs and supervisory observation on a daily basis
- Responsible for scheduling staffing of the CSU, both nurses and behavioral health techs
- Follows company procedures for hiring qualified staff
- Assumes responsibility to identify and oversee staff training needs
- Consults with the Director of Emergency Services, consulting pharmacist, and psychiatrist regarding the medical and clinical needs of CSU clients
- Recommends, coordinates, and establishes all relevant policies and procedures along with the Director of Emergency Services
- Develops and implements a tracking system for all quality management issues related to the Nursing and Behavioral Health Tech Departments
- Computer Literacy
- Completes all training requirements in a timely manner
- Completes all other duties and special projects as assigned
