Role Description The Mortgage Loan Originator is a full-time, hybrid role based in Louisville, KY, with the flexibility to perform some work from home. In this position, the individual will generate and manage a pipeline of mortgage loan applications, consult with clients to understand their needs, and recommend appropriate loan products. Daily responsibilities include gathering and reviewing financial documentation, explaining loan terms and requirements, and guiding applicants through the approval and closing processes. The role also involves coordinating with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to ensure timely and accurate loan completion, while maintaining compliance with lending regulations and company policies. The Mortgage Loan Originator will actively build and nurture relationships with clients, real estate professionals, and referral partners to support ongoing business growth.
Qualifications
- Solid experience in Mortgage Lending and Loans, with a strong understanding of residential loan products and lending practices.
- Proficiency in Loan Origination and Underwriting fundamentals, including evaluating borrower eligibility and reviewing financial documentation.
- Background in Finance or related fields, with the ability to analyze credit, income, and debt-to-income ratios.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally.
- Familiarity with mortgage compliance requirements, lending regulations, and industry best practices.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Louisville, KY, managing time effectively between in-office and remote work.
- Comfort with loan origination systems and standard office software; willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience as a Mortgage Loan Originator or in a similar lending role is strongly beneficial; relevant state licensing as required.
