We are currently looking for Glass Fab Operators to join our team onsite in our Orlando, FL office. We offer a 9/80 work schedule and foster a professional, high-energy culture where employees are empowered to succeed. The Glass Fabrication Operator will work in a cross-functional team with engineers, management, and technicians in a production environment to provide glass optics for high volume manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Work hands-on to provide optical components.
- Work in a production environment to fulfill production work orders.
- Complete daily schedule and assignments as assigned.
- Enter data into production reports and software including excel and MRP systems.
- Setup and adjust settings and troubleshoot multiple optical manufacturing machinery and processes (ID saw, and furnaces)
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Adhere to all safety rules and protocols
- Must be able to pass an OSHA Respirator Test and able to wear respirator intermittently
- Other duties may be assigned
Special Authority:
- Stop any nonconforming process(es) which may affect safety, poor quality or customer satisfaction
- Report any halted nonconforming process(es) to production manager, quality department, and/or process engineer.
Knowledge, ability and skills:
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Capable and willing to setup, adjust settings, and troubleshoot multiple optical manufacturing machinery and processes in the Glass Fabrication department
- Familiar with variety of raw materials properties and safety procedures when working with them in different states and combinations
- Experience with standard measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and balances
- Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Regularly required to sit, talk and hear
- Frequently required to walk or smell
- Occasional standing, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds
- Able to work with moderate level of noise
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English.
Minimum previous experience/qualification:
- High school diploma, GED, and six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Must be authorized to work and reside in the US and must be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government to confirm with but not limited to U.S. export control regulations (ITAR), but not limited to U.S. export (ITAR) guidelines.
