We are a growing underground utility and heavy civil construction company specializing in excavation, water, sewer, and pipeline construction. We are looking for a dependable, self-motivated individual to join our team as a Repair Mechanic and Small Equipment Transport Driver.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining construction equipment while safely transporting equipment, tools, and materials between our shop, job sites, and vendors. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, organized, and able to work independently. Basic equipment maintenance and repair skills required, large equipment and diesel mechanic experience not required.
Responsibilities
· Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on construction equipment.
· Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and trailers.
· Service skid steers, mini excavators, compact loaders, rollers, generators, pumps, compressors, and other small construction equipment.
· Maintain accurate service and repair records.
· Transport equipment safely using pickup trucks and equipment trailers.
· Deliver tools, materials, and parts to job sites.
· Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
· Respond to field repairs.
Qualifications
· 2 years of mechanical experience with construction or heavy equipment preferred.
· Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and general equipment maintenance preferred.
· Experience towing equipment trailers.
· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus but not required).
· Ability to troubleshoot problems independently.
· Self starter, self motivated.
· Ability to lift 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
