Business Analyst (Cloud Modernization / Solution Architecture)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the modernization of the Corporations and Charities Filing System (CCFS). The consultant will work alongside Solution Architects, IT teams, and business stakeholders to analyze existing business processes, gather and document requirements, facilitate workshops, and support the development of two cloud-based solution options for a large-scale government modernization initiative.
This is a strategic business analysis role focused on solution planning, requirements management, business process improvement, compliance, and stakeholder engagement. The consultant will not perform application development or system implementation
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
8 years of Business Analysis experience on enterprise IT projects
Experience leading business analysis activities for cloud modernization initiatives
Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project methodologies
Expertise in business process modeling and process improvement
Experience gathering and documenting functional and non-functional requirements
Strong experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and requirement elicitation sessions
Experience creating Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
Experience with current-state and future-state process documentation
Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills
Experience collaborating with Solution Architects and technical teams
Preferred Qualifications
Government or Public Sector experience
Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud environments
Knowledge of compliance, governance, and records management
Experience with enterprise modernization projects
Familiarity with AI-assisted software development initiatives
Experience supporting procurement and solution evaluation projects
Key Responsibilities
Analyze existing business processes and enterprise applications
Conduct stakeholder interviews and requirement gathering sessions
Document business requirements and business rules
Develop current-state and future-state business process documentation
Support Solution Architects in defining cloud modernization options
Translate business requirements into technical requirements
Create and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
Facilitate project meetings and document meeting minutes, action items, and decisions
Identify business impacts, organizational changes, and training requirements
Evaluate solution options against business objectives
Assist in compliance and data governance assessments
Support risk analysis and mitigation planning
Prepare executive presentations and business documentation
Participate in project planning and knowledge transfer activities
