Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Lightning Protection Installer role based in Clearwater, FL, Midland TX, and Dallas TX.. The Lightning Protection Installer is responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining lightning and surge protection systems on industrial structures and equipment in accordance with company specifications and safety standards. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, preparing materials and tools, performing mechanical and electrical connections, and conducting inspections and basic testing of installed systems. The role also involves working at heights, using power and hand tools, following strict safety protocols, and collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other installers to complete jobs on schedule. The installer is expected to document work performed, report issues or hazards, and support continuous improvement of installation practices.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals, and follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude, including experience with hand tools, power tools, hardware assembly, and basic electrical connections.
- Strong safety awareness, including experience working at heights, using fall protection, and adhering to OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting equipment, climbing ladders, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and standing for extended periods.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with field crews, supervisors, and engineering staff on job sites.
- Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify installation issues and assist in resolving them in the field.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to reach job sites and company facilities as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in construction, industrial installation, electrical work, or a related trade is preferred.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations when needed and to participate in on-the-job training and skills development.
- Must have three years of clean driving record and current driver's license.
