Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Owner Operator / Carrier to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and contract guidelines. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Operate 26ft Box trucks ensuring safe delivery of freight.
- Perform routine inspections of the vehicle before and after trips to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight.
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules while considering traffic patterns and road conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs for hours driven and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding any delays or issues encountered during route driving.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Maintain Carrier Authority
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Familiarity with various types of freight transportation methods.
- Strong knowledge of delivery driver responsibilities and route planning.
- Ability to load and unload cargo safely and efficiently.
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Attention to detail for maintaining accurate delivery logs and vehicle inspections.
