Outside Sales, Hydraulic and Mechanical Services

Summary/Objective

The Outside Sales Representative sells the services of Lightning Bay Pneu-Draulics to customers and potential customers resulting in revenue generation.  In addition, the employee in this position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning, sales reporting and technical development of services offered to customers.

• Manages relationship with current customers, makes sales contacts and researches customer needs and develops application of products and services while accurately estimating and quoting customers
• Manages relationship with new customers, makes sales contacts, researches new leads, makes cold calls (in-person and over the phone), develops relationships with customers and generates new business
• Participates in sales planning and forecasting with senior management, sells, estimates and delivers quotes to customers via sales presentations and closes sales
• Works with senior management to develop weekly sales goals, manage sales budgets in a timely fashion, provides weekly sales reports and meets sales goals as established by senior management
• Promotes company and networks throughout the fluid power industry and works with vendor representatives and business affiliates for meetings, joint sales calls, networking and trade show participation
• Develops and maintains communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers using established guidelines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are usually Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or during regular business hours.  This position has the flexibility to set their own hours, based on the client demand with input from senior management.  The Outside Sales Representative has no set schedule and plans their own day/work and manages their own schedule with management approval.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of technical field sales experience.
• Technical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics
• Fluid power knowledge and experience working within the fluid power industry in a sales capacity.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Fluid power certified, or willing to become fluid power certified
• Advanced sales training
• Training and/or education in hydraulic and mechanical systems including technical experience with valves, cylinders, pumps, motors and related hydraulic systems
• Experience and knowledge of Marine/Offshore, Mining and general industrial markets
• Experience providing price quotes to customer in the fluid power industry

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver’s license, a good driving record and the ability to be insured by company insurance carrier
• Must submit to and pass initial drug screen and subsequent random drug screens
• Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
• Must have a sense of urgency and be driven to get things done efficiently
• Hardworking, honest and must be able to work effectively under pressure
• Self-motivated, driven and able to work successfully with little to no supervision, alone and as part of a team

Lightning Bay Pneu-Draulics is a leading provider of Industrial and Marine Hydraulic Services. Based out of Tampa, FL. We provide shop and field service to our customers and troubleshoot, install, remanufacture, or design fluid power systems and components. Our shop capabilities includes full machining and fabrication and the ability to remanufacture and test equipment for our customers. Some industries that we serve include: marine, mining, manufacturing, fertilizer and chemical, food and beverage, and metal processing.
