Lighthouse Youth & Family Services has Youth Worker positions available at our Mecum House location. Mecum House a homeless shelter for 10 to 17 year-old who have nowhere else to turn. There is always someone to listen and offer support. The doors are always open, and we provide a safety and care for young people who don't feel safe in their own homes or don't have a place to call home. No youth are ever turned away.
Starting Hourly Rate: $16.92
Current Shift Openings
FT Tuesday through Saturday 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
FT Sunday through Thursday 6:00 am to 2:00 pm
Essential Functions:
- Provide direct care, supervision, crisis interventions and documentation of daily activities.
- Prepare meals, facilitate group sessions, and outings, provide security, observation, housekeeping, prepare medication completing intakes, shift paperwork and other duties as assigned.
- Provide direct supervision of youth and facility throughout the work shift.
- Supervise activities, chores, hygiene, and bedtimes times by following program schedule.
- Assist team by completing paperwork related to program outcomes. Document any significant events that occur during the shift in a daily log, service ticket and/or progress note.
- Participate in the on-call schedule rotation.

Required Education and Experience:
1. High School diploma/GED.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- At least 6 months of experience working with youth required. Experience working with youth in a residential setting preferred.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record with ability to operate a 15-passenger van to transport youth as needed.
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual and/or Sign Language proficiency a plus.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
1. CPR / First Aid certified.
