Mental Health Counselor

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical counseling, with expertise in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and behavioral management. Duties

• Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-10 coding standards to determine client needs.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
• Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to support clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies.
• Deliver specialized counseling services including grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and behavioral therapy for individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
• Collaborate with medical professionals to integrate psychopharmacology insights into treatment plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and records.
• Engage in clinical research activities and data collection to evaluate treatment effectiveness and improve patient care protocols.
• Facilitate telehealth sessions to expand access to mental health services across various settings such as outpatient clinics or inpatient facilities.
• Manage case documentation accurately using CPT coding for billing purposes and ensure adherence to social work standards and medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid licensure or certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent credential required.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical counseling within outpatient or inpatient settings; hospital experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and art or dance therapies.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and medical record keeping.
• Experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with disabilities—including autism—and geriatrics is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to manage crisis situations effectively and provide direct support during high-stress moments.
