What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Peer Recovery Specialist- ACT Team position at Lighthouse Therapeutic Services?
We are seeking a compassionate Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) to join our multidisciplinary ACT Team. The PRS uses lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery to support adults with serious mental illness (SMI) in achieving recovery, wellness, independence, and community integration.
Required Qualifications
- Current Virginia Peer Recovery Specialist certification/registration, as applicable.
- Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery.
- Knowledge of recovery, peer support, self-advocacy, and community resources.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Maintain required credentials, training, and continuing education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide recovery-focused peer support in homes and community settings.
- Use lived experience appropriately to promote hope, recovery, and self-determination.
- Help individuals identify recovery goals, strengths, barriers, and wellness strategies.
- Support coping, self-advocacy, independent living, and community integration.
- Connect individuals with housing, employment, education, wellness, and other resources.
- Participate in ACT team meetings, service planning, and care coordination within PRS scope.
- Complete timely and accurate service documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and individuals’ rights.
- Comply with DBHDS, DMAS/Medicaid, HIPAA, human rights, and ACT requirements.
Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Must be able to travel throughout the service area, work a flexible schedule, participate in assigned ACT crisis/on-call coverage within PRS scope, and complete required background checks and training.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
