Job Summary
The Lighthouse Preschool is hiring for the 2026/27 school year! We are looking to fill a part-time position as a classroom assistant on Wednesdays from 8-12:30. Applicant also has the option as filling in as a substitue aide as needed. Position begins immediatley. Applicant must pass a background check.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to individual student needs.
- Support behavior management techniques to maintain a positive classroom environment.
- Provide care and supervision for children during classroom activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Engage with students in meaningful ways to enhance their understanding of the curriculum.
- Help manage classroom logistics, including organizing materials and preparing the classroom for daily activities.
Requirements
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies and techniques for working with children.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Previous experience in childcare, toddler care, or preschool settings is highly desirable.
- A passion for educating young children and supporting their developmental needs.
