Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiologic Technologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical imaging techniques, patient care, and safety protocols. The Radiologic Technologist will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high-quality imaging services.
Duties
- Perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures including X-rays, CT scans, PET scans, DEXA scans, and mammography.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians to evaluate images and ensure accurate diagnostic information is provided.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
- Maintain equipment and ensure it is functioning properly; report any malfunctions or issues promptly.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records, including medical terminology relevant to the procedures performed.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in radiologic technology.
Skills
- Proficient in various imaging modalities such as nuclear medicine, sonography, emergency medicine techniques, and diagnostic radiology.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to medical imaging.
- Experience working in urgent care or emergency room settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with Level I and Level II trauma center operations is an asset.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations with precision and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members.
