The job requires 38 hours per week in office. Attendance and punctuality are expected. Do not apply unless you can work in office.

LLS has an immediate opening for an experienced paralegal. Experience providing paralegal support to clients dealing with divorces, modifications, SAPCR’s, adoptions, and other family law matters is required. This position will be responsible for providing a broad range of support to our attorneys and clients.
Typical responsibilities may include:
Maintaining client files in both paper and digital form.
Managing and protecting sensitive information.
Assisting clients in preparing financial information sheets and inventories and appraisements.
Maintaining calendars and addressing conflicts in a respectful and courteous manner.
Answering phones and keeping accurate messages.
Preparing and managing trial notebooks under the supervision of the attorneys.
The candidate must possess a client focused approach to work, be able to handle multiple assignments efficiently, work well under pressure, and have the flexibility to assist teams in meeting client demands on accelerated schedules.
The ideal candidate must have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and operate with strong initiative to meet billable requirements.
Preferred: 2 years of recent paralegal experience in family law is required. Board certification in family law is preferred.
Required Skills: Excellent proofreading and grammar skills. Keen attention to detail. Professional oral and written communication skills. Excellent email and telephone responsiveness. Ability and desire to learn. Demonstrated good judgment in making decisions. Familiarity with federal, state and local rules/filing procedures. Flexibility with work schedule is required to accommodate overtime.
Spanish fluency is preferred.
A background check will be required. Those who apply consent to having a background check conducted, including a review of the applicant's criminal and credit history. While poor credit history and certain criminal history will not exclude an applicant, failure to disclose the issues will.
Employment history and an applicant's work stability are critical to the mission of LLS. Candidates who have been employed by one company for at least two of the last four years are preferred.
