(MLT) Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician (Nights)

Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) on night shift for a hospital laboratory in Anderson, South Carolina. This position involves performing clinical laboratory testing to support patient diagnosis and treatment.

Position Overview

The Medical Laboratory Technician will perform testing on patient specimens according to established laboratory procedures. Responsibilities include operating laboratory equipment, documenting results and participating in quality control and improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing according to established policies and procedures.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
• Follow quality control procedures and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Use laboratory information systems to document and report test results.
• Assist with evaluating and implementing new laboratory tests and procedures.
• Help train new employees and students as assigned.
• Participate in cross-training and complete required continuing education.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Maintain appropriate use of laboratory supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related qualifying program.
• MLT(ASCP) certification or eligibility for ASCP or HHS certification, as specified by the employer.
• Familiarity with clinical laboratory equipment and testing procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a laboratory team.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Work Environment

This position involves regular standing, walking and repetitive hand movements, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Work is performed in a hospital laboratory where exposure to biological and chemical hazards is possible. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required.

Salary, Shift, Benefits

• Salary: Starting at $22.25 base pay
• Shift: Overnights 8pm-6:30am w/ rotating weekend
• Shift Differential: $2.25/hr for weekdays, $5/hr on weekends
