Lighthouse Lab Services seeks a skilled and motivated Micro/Molecular Medical Technologist to support daily operations within a fast-growing, high-complexity laboratory. This role will provide testing support including molecular, microbiology, and some chemistry ensuring quality, efficiency, and full compliance with CLIA regulations.
The ideal candidate has hands-on, strong technical expertise, a passion for process improvement, and experience working in high-throughput laboratory environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Performance & Result Integrity
- Perform high-complexity testing across multiple departments in accordance with CLIA standards and internal SOPs
- Review, verify, and release patient results with accuracy; serve as the escalation point for complex testing questions and troubleshooting
- Maintain instrumentation through QC, calibration, and routine maintenance, flag issues early and follow through on resolution
Quality & ComplianceEnsure adherence to CLIA, QA, and safety standards in day-to-day bench work
- Maintain accurate documentation, SOP compliance, and data integrity, support inspection readiness and internal audit preparation
Skills & Competencies
- Technical depth across multiple lab disciplines especially related to Microbiology and Molecular Testing
- Strong troubleshooting instincts; comfortable working through ambiguous problems without waiting for someone to hand you the answer
- Clear communicator who can explain technical issues to colleagues and clinicians alike
- Process-minded
- Calm under pressure and effective when the workload spikes
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, or related field
- ASCP or equivalent certification preferred
- 1-3 years of hands on clinical laboratory experience, including high-complexity testing preferably in a microbiology and molecular settings with UTI/STI panels as well as bacterial or fungal culture work
- Solid understanding of CLIA regulations and quality systems
- Experience with automated and semi-automated instrumentation in a high-throughput setting
- Experience using QuantStudio, KingFisher Flex, Gene Expert, and BD Phoenix/AP instruments a plus
Salary, Benefits, and Shift:
- Salary: $25-$35/hour
- Shift: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm
