Lighthouse Lab Services is partnered with an established laboratory who seeking a Laboratory Support Aide to join their team. This role is essential to ensuring specimens are accurately received, processed, and prepared for testing while supporting efficient laboratory operations.
Available Shifts: Rotating days 7:30am-3:30pm or Rotating days 9:30am-6pm
The Role You'll Play:
- Receive, register, and accession incoming laboratory specimens
- Verify specimen integrity and prepare samples for testing
- Load and organize specimens for laboratory analyzers and workflows
- Maintain specimen processing turnaround times and daily productivity goals
- Follow established laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols
- Assist with pre-analytical, analytical support, and post-analytical laboratory processes
- Operate laboratory equipment and perform routine tasks under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor
- Maintain accurate documentation and support quality assurance initiatives
- Perform other laboratory support duties as assigned
What You'll Bring:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, or another physical or biological science preferred
- At least one year of experience in a healthcare or clinical laboratory setting
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a laboratory team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
This position is based in a clinical laboratory and requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Perform repetitive hand movements and data entry
- Lift and move materials up to 25 pounds
- Work safely around biological specimens while following all laboratory safety and infection control procedures
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Compensation and Benefits:
