Schedule: Per Diem | Monday–Friday | Flexible availability between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM
Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a leading hospital system in the White Plains, NY area to recruit a New York State Licensed Cytotechnologist for a per diem opportunity. This role is ideal for an experienced Cytotechnologist seeking a flexible schedule while working in a high-quality hospital laboratory committed to exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Screen and evaluate gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens in accordance with established laboratory standards.
- Identify and accurately classify abnormal cellular findings.
- Prepare cases for pathologist review and collaborate on complex or challenging specimens.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Accurately document findings in the laboratory information system (LIS).
- Maintain competency with current cytology techniques, instrumentation, and laboratory best practices.
- Support daily laboratory operations while maintaining productivity and diagnostic accuracy.
- Participate in continuing education and departmental quality initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Current New York State Cytotechnologist License (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or a related life science field.
- Completion of an accredited Cytotechnology training program.
- ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital or high-volume laboratory setting is strongly preferred.
- Excellent microscopic evaluation and diagnostic skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with pathologists and laboratory staff.
