About the RoleLighthouse Lab Services continues to partner with a leading healthcare organization in Raleigh, NC and we are seeking an experienced Core Laboratory Technical Supervisor to oversee evening operations within a high-volume, fast-paced clinical laboratory. This leader will ensure accurate, efficient testing workflows; uphold regulatory compliance; and support a culture of quality, safety, and professional growth.The ideal candidate is an experienced MLS/MLT professional with strong technical expertise across core lab disciplines—including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis—and proven leadership abilities in a CAP/CLIA-regulated environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership Supervise evening shift operations for the Core Lab, ensuring timely and accurate testing across chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and related areas.Oversee daily workflow, staff assignments, troubleshooting, and workload balancing to maintain optimal turnaround times.Serve as the on-shift technical resource for complex testing issues, instrument concerns, and analytical problem solving.Regulatory & Quality Assurance Ensure full compliance with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and internal quality standards.Monitor QC, proficiency testing performance, instrument maintenance, and documentation.Support audits, inspections, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.Team Leadership & Development Provide direct supervision to evening shift technologists and technicians.Train and mentor staff; oversee competency assessments, coaching, and performance feedback.Promote a positive and collaborative work environment aligned with organizational values.Administrative & Communication Collaborate with day and night supervisors to support seamless 24/7 laboratory operations.Maintain accurate shift reports, incident documentation, and communication logs.Assist with scheduling, supply management, and implementation of new assays, equipment, or workflows.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field required.ASCP MLS/MLT certification (or equivalent) required.Minimum 3–5 years of core lab experience; previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.Strong understanding of CAP/CLIA regulations, QC principles, and laboratory instrumentation.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment and make sound decisions independently.Shift and Salary:Shift: Evening (2:00pm - 10:00pm)Salary: $35-$42/hour (depending on experience)What this opportunity will provide:Opportunity to lead a critical part of the laboratory during a key operational shift.Supportive leadership team and strong professional development culture.Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and relocation support available.About us:At Lighthouse Lab Services, we offer solutions to help start, grow, and run clinical laboratories.
