On-Site Supervisor – Janitorial Services

The On-Site Supervisor will provide day-to-day field supervision of janitorial personnel assigned to the FAA Salt Lake City facilities and will support the Project Manager/Contract Manager in ensuring that all required services are completed safely, timely, and in accordance with the Statement of Work, approved work schedules, facility-specific frequency charts, and Beacon’s Quality Control Plan.

The On-Site Supervisor will serve as the primary field-level point of coordination for assigned janitorial employees and will monitor daily staffing, work assignments, attendance, task completion, safety practices, security procedures, supply availability, and workmanship. The Supervisor will ensure that employees perform only authorized tasks and meet or exceed the minimum service frequencies established by the solicitation. The SOW requires the Contractor to schedule and perform all specified requirements and maintain the stated minimum standards and frequencies.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Direct and supervise daily janitorial operations across assigned FAA facilities, including employee work assignments, coverage, and sequencing of tasks.
• Verify that work is completed in accordance with the approved work schedule and applicable facility frequency charts, including daily, multiple-daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and other scheduled services.
• Ensure adequate staffing and promptly coordinate coverage for absences or vacancies. The SOW specifically requires sufficient backup employees to address unexpected absences or resignations.
• Complete or oversee required daily task checklists and ensure that records are accurate and available for weekly submission to the COR. The SOW requires use of a daily checklist and submission of a copy to the COR weekly.
• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled quality-control inspections, document deficiencies, initiate corrective action, and verify completion of corrections in accordance with Beacon’s Quality Control Plan. The SOW requires an inspection system and records of inspections and corrective actions.
• Identify and correct potential service deficiencies before performance becomes unacceptable and promptly elevate recurring or significant deficiencies to the Project Manager.
• Ensure employees are properly trained in custodial cleaning and disinfecting methods, chemical handling, applicable Safety Data Sheets, hazard recognition, chemical storage, and required personal protective equipment.
• Enforce OSHA Hazard Communication, PPE, chemical labeling, dilution, SDS, and other applicable safety requirements. The Contractor must maintain an accessible on-site SDS log and provide SDS information for chemicals used on site.
• Ensure personnel comply with FAA access, badging, parking, secure-area, key-control, and facility-security procedures. Employees without properly executed security forms may not work at the facility, and secure-area cleaning requires coordination with the COR.
• Coordinate access to secure and operational areas and ensure employees follow all operational restrictions, including avoiding interference with FAA equipment and operations and complying with the prohibition on cell-phone use in operational areas.
• Immediately report unsafe or hazardous conditions, facility deficiencies, open safes, security concerns, lost keys/badges, or other incidents through the appropriate Beacon and FAA channels.
• Monitor janitorial closets, storage areas, equipment, consumable supplies, and cleaning chemicals to ensure they are clean, orderly, properly stored, serviceable, and available in sufficient quantities.
• Verify that equipment is maintained in good working condition and that required PPE, approved cleaning products, disinfectants, and consumable supplies are available to employees.
• Assist with employee orientation, site-specific training, retraining, coaching, and implementation of corrective practices.
• Maintain professional communication with the Project Manager/Contract Manager and coordinate routine operational matters with the COR in accordance with established lines of authority.
• Support preparation of inspection records, staffing records, work schedules, supply/equipment information, and other contract documentation.
• Perform other supervisory duties necessary to maintain uninterrupted, safe, and contract-compliant janitorial operations.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications

The On-Site Supervisor should have:

• Prior supervisory experience in commercial, institutional, or government janitorial/custodial operations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of janitorial methods, floor and carpet care, restroom sanitation, disinfecting procedures, equipment operation, and chemical safety.
• Ability to supervise multiple employees and coordinate work across multiple facilities and shifts.
• Working knowledge of quality-control inspections, corrective-action procedures, daily task tracking, and service-frequency scheduling.
• Familiarity with SDS/HAZCOM requirements and appropriate use of PPE.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, and Government representatives.
• Ability to satisfy FAA security, access, and badging requirements applicable to the position.

Place of Performance: Salt Lake City, UT

Pay: $47,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
