What are the responsibilities and job description for the User Interface Artist position at Lightfox Games?
Lightfox Games is seeking a talented and enthusiastic UI Artist to join our Seattle, Washington based team to work on an unannounced mobile game for a world-class IP and Publisher.
We are looking to build an organization of talented individuals operating in small teams with high levels of ownership.
This role is hybrid out of our downtown Seattle office, with approximately 50% of time expected in-person. When remote, we’re a quick-to-videocall, video-on studio to keep collaboration fast and effective.
Responsibilities
- Own the visual design and production of UI assets across game systems
- Collaborate with UX designers, game designers, and engineers to translate wireframes and feature specs into polished, implementation-ready assets
- Create shared UI libraries that allow for faster and more performant implementation of new features
- Create and iterate rapidly on UI based on playtests and stakeholder feedback
Requirements
- 5 years of UI art experience in games, with at least one shipped mobile title
- Strong portfolio demonstrating both high-quality UI craft and the ability to work across a range of styles and screen contexts
- Deep proficiency in Photoshop and/or Illustrator; comfortable working in Figma for mockups and handoff
- Hands-on experience working directly in Unity, with a deep understanding of prefabs, canvas systems, asset atlasing, and UI animation workflows
- Experience designing for live ops, including event storefronts, battle passes, or limited-time content flows
- Solid understanding of mobile UI constraints: aspect ratios, touch target sizing, performance budgets
Pluses
- Experience on a title with ongoing live ops post-launch
- Experience building or maintaining a UI component/design system from early stage
- Comfort working in a small team where roles overlap and ownership is broad
We're building a culture that remembers why we're in the games industry: we want to have fun and make compelling experiences for our players. We move fast, iterate often, and believe the best games are built by small teams who stay scrappy and keep momentum through production and post-launch.
