Staffmark is partnering with one of our major manufacturing partners in the Avon area to hire Fiber Draw Manufacturing Technicians to support continued growth within their advanced manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual who enjoys working with advanced technology, troubleshooting equipment, and being part of a close-knit manufacturing team. The Fiber Draw Manufacturing Technician will play a critical role in producing precision fiber materials used in demanding industries including aerospace, defense, medical, communications, and specialty photonics.
Key Responsibilities
· Set up and operate fiber draw towers used to manufacture specialty fiber optic products.
· Follow production prints, recipes, work orders, and established workmanship standards.
· Review work orders, materials, specifications, and process requirements.
· Monitor production processes to ensure engineering and quality specifications are met.
· Identify and communicate equipment and process issues to appropriate support personnel.
· Assist with troubleshooting equipment and process problems to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
· Support Process Engineering with the development and documentation of new or revised process conditions.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects supporting department and business objectives.
· Maintain accurate production information and documentation.
· Follow all company safety procedures, personnel policies, and ISO guidelines.
· Properly handle, label, and dispose of chemicals and materials used in fiber manufacturing.
· Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow 6S practices.
· Promptly communicate safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor or safety personnel.
· Support other production processes, departments, and operators based on business needs.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or additional technical training preferred.
· 1–3 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
· Technical, mechanical, or industrial background preferred.
· Experience with extrusion, optical fiber, or cable manufacturing is a plus.
· Mechanical aptitude and interest in learning advanced manufacturing processes.
· Basic computer skills required.
· Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions.
· Ability to read drawings and understand product specifications.
· Strong math skills, including fractions, decimals, metrics, formulas, conversions, and basic calculations.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Strong commitment to workplace safety.
Compensation & Benefits
· $22.00–$25.00 per hour
· Additional 8% shift differential for 2nd shift
· Additional 12% shift differential for 3rd shift
