What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Care Specialist (Active Awake Shift) – Family Owned position at Lighter Hearts Home Care?
About Us
At Lighter Hearts Home Care, we aren’t a giant corporation. We are a family-owned business that treats our team and our seniors like our own kin. With over 30 years of experience, we know that great care starts with a caregiver who feels supported and appreciated. We’re looking for a seasoned professional...someone with at least 2 years of experience...who thrives in the quiet focus of the night. If you prefer a calm, one-on-one environment over chaotic facility hallways, we want to meet you.
The Heart of the Night Role
This is an awake position. Our seniors count on you to be their "night watch," providing peace of mind while the rest of the world sleeps. Because you’ve been in the field for a while, you know that overnight care is about vigilance and comfort:
- Active Monitoring: Remaining awake and alert throughout the shift to ensure client safety.
- Gentle Support: Assisting with midnight bathroom trips or mobility needs with a steady hand.
- Specialized Care: Providing a calming presence for clients with Alzheimer’s or Dementia who may experience sundowning or nighttime anxiety.
- Professional Oversight: Managing medication reminders and vitals with precision.
What You Bring to the Table
We need someone who has "seen it all" and understands the unique responsibility of overnight care:
- Experience: At least 2 years in home care, assisted living, or a hospital setting.
- Reliability: You are a "night owl" by nature who is dependable and punctual.
- Skill: You’re comfortable with medical documentation (EMR/EHR) and understand HIPAA and infection control.
- Certification: A CNA license or specialized training is preferred, but your hands-on wisdom and compassion are what matter most.
