Duties
- Assist the lead teachers in planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities focused on literacy, math, social-emotional learning, and childhood development.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions to ensure safety and engagement.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies aligned with educational regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that complies with health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily activities, progress, and any concerns about their child's well-being or development.
- Use educational technologies and computers to enhance learning experiences for children.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to support individualized education plans (IEPs) for children with disabilities or special needs.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and classroom behavior management techniques.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team through strong communication skills and collaboration with teachers and staff.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using computers and educational technologies to support classroom activities.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise children safely while fostering a nurturing environment.
