Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development for infants and toddlers
- Manage daily classroom activities, ensuring a safe, clean, and stimulating environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Foster positive behavior management strategies to support children's social skills and emotional regulation
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns
- Collaborate with team members to plan lessons, assess developmental progress, and adapt teaching methods as needed
- Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws and ensure all safety protocols are followed diligently
- Incorporate early intervention techniques and literacy education strategies to support diverse learning needs
- Conduct classroom assessments using standardized testing tools when appropriate to monitor developmental benchmarks
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, special education, physical education, and childcare best practices
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in a classroom or childcare setting, preferably with infants and toddlers
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education methodologies
- Experience developing curriculum tailored to early learners’ needs
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration
- Certification in first aid and CPR required; additional certifications in special education or early intervention are a plus
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare is essential
- Demonstrated ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy, math, physical activity, and social-emotional learning
- Experience working in preschool or daycare environments; private school experience is advantageous
