POSITION SUMMARY
The Education Coordinator at Lightbridge Academy is responsible for elevating the quality of instructional practice and curriculum implementation throughout the center. This role focuses heavily on teacher coaching, professional development, classroom support, and ensuring consistent, high-quality learning experiences for all children. The Education Coordinator partners closely with the Center Director and Assistant Director to maintain compliance with licensing standards, strengthen program quality, and uphold the Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Circle of Care philosophy of Lightbridge Academy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Curriculum Leadership & Instructional Coaching
- Lead the implementation of the Lightbridge Academy curriculum across all classrooms, ensuring lessons are developmentally appropriate, inclusive, and aligned with early childhood best practices.
- Provide ongoing coaching, modeling, and mentoring to teachers in areas such as instructional strategies, classroom management, and meaningful child engagement.
- Conduct regular classroom observations, using established quality assessment tools to evaluate and support teaching effectiveness.
- Offer constructive feedback and individualized coaching plans to educators to strengthen instruction and enhance child outcomes.
- Ensure teachers are consistently planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality learning experiences aligned with program standards.
- Support new teachers through onboarding, modeling best practices, and helping them understand curriculum expectations.
Teacher Development & Professional Growth
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate staff professional development sessions and in-service trainings to meet state, company, and program quality requirements.
- Identify professional learning needs through observation, staff feedback, and program goals; develop strategies to support growth.
- Encourage a reflective teaching practice by promoting collaboration, peer learning, and ongoing skill development.
- Provide real-time classroom support when teachers need guidance, redirection, or assistance implementing new teaching techniques.
Child Assessment & Program Quality
- Oversee the completion and accuracy of developmental assessments, screenings, and progress reports, ensuring teachers meet required timelines.
- Analyze assessment data to identify instructional needs, provide targeted recommendations, and support individualized learning strategies.
- Maintain program quality standards aligned with the Association of Early Learning Leaders, internal education audits, and licensing expectations.
- Assist teachers in creating and maintaining intentional, developmentally appropriate classroom environments.
Family Engagement & Support
- Serve as an educational resource to families, discussing curriculum, developmental milestones, and strategies to support learning at home.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences, tours, curriculum nights, and family engagement events.
- Support strong communication between families and classroom teams, particularly regarding child progress and well-being.
Operational Support
- Step into classrooms as needed to maintain ratios while modeling effective instructional practices and supporting continuity of care.
- Assist with onboarding new children by reviewing developmental information, ensuring appropriate placement, and communicating curriculum expectations.
- Maintain accurate educational and administrative records to comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support center operations by assisting with tasks such as supply coordination, event support, and front-desk assistance when needed.
- Act as a leadership support in the absence of the Center Director and/or Assistant Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field strongly preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year early childhood experience; teaching experience required.
- Ability to meet all required professional development and licensing requirements.
- Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practice, early learning standards, and curriculum implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and support adult learners positively and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage families, teachers, and community partners.
- Strong decision-making skills, especially in urgent situations involving child safety or instructional needs.
- Proficiency with computers, tablets, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Commitment to reflective practice, continuous improvement, and team collaboration.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and support teachers through change.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
