About Light of Chance, Inc.
Light of Chance, Inc., a highly visible local nonprofit, most notably known for its work with youth, is currently accepting applications for a part-time position as a music Youth Specialist for its Breathe Youth Arts Program and Collage Special Needs Adult Arts Program.
Our YOGA class combines the skills of counseling, meditation, and yoga to fit individual needs. Yoga focuses on the healing and balance of physical as well as mental health through talk therapy, asanas (postures), and opening of the body. Yoga helps with ADD/ADHD, trauma recovery/PTSD, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, anger management, crisis intervention, grief counseling, and more.
About the Role
Teachers are responsible for leading well-rounded functional group classes and/or sessions as mutually agreed upon between teacher and executive director. Teachers are expected to be able to utilize a variety of standard props (those relevant to the applicable modality) while reinforcing core values and commitment to service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Ability to teach and lead various yoga sessions.
· Assist students to achieve precise alignment.
· Demonstrate practice and techniques.
· Motivate students with words of encouragement.
· Connect with students during the yoga classes through fun, intelligent sequencing.
· Offer training recommendations to improve the practice of yoga.
· The ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of ages and skill levels.
· Provide a comfortable and positive class environment.
· Instruct poses effectively, paying attention to safety and risk factors appropriate to student experience levels.
· Safely and effectively demonstrate a variety of physical postures.
· Must be able to provide modifications for beginner/youth/adolescent levels
· Communicate appropriate student feedback to Executive Director and Program Coordinator
· Other duties that may be assigned to help meet goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Certified Yoga Instructor
· 200-hour teacher training or higher
· Certified in Yoga Calm (a plus but not required)
· Travel required for Breathe Residency program – no more than 20miles outside of Bowling Green
· 1-3 years experience working with children in an educational, caregiving, or teaching capacity

About Breathe & Collage:
Collage is an all-inclusive special needs arts program of non-profit organization, Light of Chance, Inc. for adults with developmental delays and disabilities. It is created to enhance participants’ artistic expression, social skills, and self-confidence through visual arts, dance, music, and yoga. The goal is to inspire all participants to reach their full potential through the arts. We want to build an environment where participants feel a sense of belonging while enjoying their experiences within the program.
Breathe, an innovative after-school arts program for grades 5-12, develops creativity while providing a positive learning environment for area youth to express themselves, engage in important issues and experience personal and social transformation through the arts. The program educates and fosters artistic expression, leadership, and social skills through music, dance, creative writing, and visual arts.
