We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our collaborative outpatient team and deliver high-quality psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and adults.

YOUR IMPACT
As a PMHNP at Light Counseling, you will play a vital role in helping clients experience stability, clarity, and hope through compassionate, clinically excellent care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and establish accurate diagnoses
- Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications in compliance with regulations
- Provide brief psychotherapy and patient education when appropriate
- Order and interpret labs and diagnostic tests as needed
- Collaborate with therapists and other providers to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development
- Provide care for child, adolescent, and adult populations
- Perform additional duties as needed
WHAT YOU BRING
- Strong clinical knowledge of psychiatric disorders and psychopharmacology
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of mental health conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a caseload in a fast-paced outpatient setting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfort working with diverse populations
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
- Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia
- Prescriptive authority with active DEA registration
- Experience in outpatient psychiatric care
- Ability to work with adolescent and adult populations
- Ability to pass required background checks
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years of PMHNP experience
- Experience with telehealth and integrated care models
- Experience collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
- Interest in working in a faith-based environment
