Light Action Productions, a full-service production company in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Commercial Fleet Maintenance Manager. The Commercial Fleet Maintenance Manager will be responsible for maintenance and repair of the company’s fleet of trucks and heavy equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates tasks and daily operations for the company’s truck fleet, including gas- and diesel-powered vehicles, trucks, and equipment.
- Develops and distributes maintenance schedules for all vehicles and equipment; alerts drivers and operators when service is due.
- Maintains accurate records of vehicle registrations, titles, and related documentation.
- Prepares and updates inventory reports and conducts inventory reconciliations.
- Uses diagnostic tools and equipment to identify necessary repairs.
- Performs maintenance and repair tasks on company vehicles and equipment—including automobiles and trucks—such as fueling, oil and filter changes, fluid checks, and other routine services, under the guidance of the Director of Logistics Operations.
- Manages and updates the maintenance and repair database for all company vehicles and equipment.
- Oversees shop inventory and handles ordering of parts, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensures compliance with all safety regulations and facility standards.
- Cleans and details the exterior and interior of company vehicles.
- Maintains security of all vehicles, equipment, and shop facilities.
- Documents unusual or unexplained vehicle damage and reports incidents to the Director.
- Works nights, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- Remains available during off-hours for urgent or emergency situations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational capabilities with a high level of accuracy.
- In-depth understanding of gasoline and diesel engine maintenance and repair.
- Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle, truck, and equipment servicing.
- Skilled at visually identifying mechanical problems.
- Capable of interpreting and applying information from service and repair manuals.
- Competent in the safe and effective use of hand and power tools.
- Experienced with computer-based diagnostic tools and software.
- Able to follow instructions clearly and accurately.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Able to operate vehicles safely in a wide range of traffic conditions.
- Able to complete paperwork and documentation with precision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar software for maintaining service records and managing inventory.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in diesel engine repair.
- At least three years of mechanical experience required.
- Five years of relevant work experience is preferred.
- Vocational or technical training is preferred.
- A clean and valid driving record is required.
- CDL Class A license required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to physically perform repairs. The employee is regularly required to use hands, talk and hear. The employee is required to stand; bend; stretch; kneel; squat; walk; reach with hands and arms. The employee must have the ability to verbally effectively communicate with staff and vendors. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the ability to stay alert and attentive at all times and operate a computer, phone and essential equipment as required. The employee must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
