Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Technician
Location: Fairfield, OH
Department: Product Services – Inspection, Maintenance, & Repair
Reports To: Manager, IMR
Job Summary
The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electro-mechanical systems and equipment. This role combines electrical, mechanical, and control system expertise to ensure optimal equipment performance, reliability, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical & Control Systems
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical components
- Troubleshoot automation and control system faults
Mechanical Systems
- Maintain and repair mechanical components such as gearboxes, bearings, pumps, and actuators
- Perform mechanical alignment, assembly, and disassembly of equipment
- Identify root causes of mechanical failures and recommend corrective actions
Maintenance & Operations
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance according to schedules
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, and upgrades
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures, lock-out/tag-out practices, and company policies
- Ensure work complies with applicable electrical and mechanical standards
- Participate in safety audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Technical diploma or vocational training in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 2 years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or automation environment
- Strong knowledge of:
- Electrical systems (AC/DC, motors, VFDs, sensors)
- Mechanical systems and components
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
- Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems including motors, drives, sensors, PLCs, and control panels
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Experience with automation and industrial control systems
- Knowledge of hydraulics & welding
- Electrical certification or license (where applicable)
- Ability to work shifts, on-call, or overtime as required
