Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Dispatch service calls to Service Technicians
- Track and manage service calls from start to completion, including parts usage
- Provide customers with timely updates on job status, costs, delays, and parts issues
- Manage the periodic maintenance schedule
- Monitor equipment trends and associated costs
- Prepare and assist with quotes for large repairs
- Check in rental equipment as needed
- Verify that all equipment is ready for use on job sites
- Generate quotes and invoices
- Cross-train to handle rental reservations
- Answer incoming phone calls professionally
- Ensure all paperwork, reports, and inspections are completed accurately and on time
- Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Develop and implement service policies, procedures, and performance standards
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to service staff
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to support customer needs
- Handle escalated customer issues with professionalism and problem‑solving skills
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards
Decision-Making Responsibilities
- Support Service Technicians in planning and prioritizing service calls
- Assist in determining warranty/rework versus customer damage for invoicing purposes
Qualifications & Requirements
- 6–12 months of related experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional, customer-friendly approach
- Legible handwriting and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
- Basic math and reading skills for work-related tasks
- Ability to read and understand written, visual, oral, and diagram-based instructions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, or willingness to complete training
- Willingness to learn new software systems
