The Program Coordinator develops and supports peer-delivered services integrated throughout LifeWorks NW. The Program Coordinator supports three broad areas across the agency: support for peers and recovery mentors; support for Program Directors and Supervisors; and working with management to promote broad policy governing the integration and growth of effective Peer Support, Peer Wellness and Recovery Mentor services throughout the agency.

Location: This position is based out of LifeWorks NW's Beaverton Site.

Pay/Benefits: $69,821-$90,767 annual salary with Full benefits.

Salary Placement Notice

The posted salary range reflects the compensation potential for this role. Most candidates will be placed between the entry level and midpoint of the range, depending on their experience and qualifications. However, more seasoned professionals with extensive exact or similar experience may be considered for placement toward the higher end of the range. Final salary offers are made in alignment with internal compensation processes in accordance with Oregon Pay Equity laws.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements agency-wide policies and procedures regarding integration of peers and delivery of peer services. Ensures related quality systems are in place and are in keeping with state and MHO rules.
  • Serves as a liaison with community partners and funders in the development and maintenance of peer programming. Represents LifeWorks NW at public, funder and partner meetings to develop or address issues regarding peer programs at the agency.
  • Provides education, training, and support to peers, their supervisors, and co-workers.
  • Develops and provides support systems and infrastructure necessary for peer services.
  • Provides individual and group peer coaching and supervision.
  • Facilitates peer certification training and State registration process.
  • Attends site-based team meetings to provide in the moment consultation, discuss appropriate peer referrals, and provide feedback around improving peer integration at Lifeworks NW.
  • Assists with and coordinates the hiring process for Peer Support Specialists (PSS), Peer Wellness Specialists (PWS) and Certified Recovery Mentors (CRM), including recruitment, interviews, and new employee orientation and training.
  • Provides insight around where peer services can grow and develops proposals for new business going forward.
  • Utilizes the lens of lived experience to support the agency in providing trauma-informed treatment practices.
  • Organizes and facilitates bi-monthly Peer Supervisor meetings in order to provide updates and support for supervisors of peers.
  • Works with leadership to clarify roles/responsibilities of peers and to provide consistent messaging around the peer role and model.
  • Responds to requests for information regarding peer support and how peer services operate in the context of Lifeworks NW.
  • Completes required program reports timely and accurately, including those needed for supervisory responsibilities.
  • Maintains electronic resources to assist peers, supervisors, and co-workers in understanding and adhering to agency protocols involving peers and mentors.
  • Participates in regular individual and team meetings with supervisor.
  • May be required to travel between sites or in the community.
  • May be contacted after hours in order to provide the best possible care to our clients who need support for unanticipated acute/emergent needs.

Qualifications

  • Peer Coordinator must be certified as shown by registration with the Traditional Health Workers State registry.
  • Peer Coordinator must have completed an Intentional Peer Support (IPS) training and must demonstrate substantial understanding of and experience using the IPS model.
  • Must have experience with mental health services systems and addictions treatment systems and understanding of consumer perspectives.
  • Must have personal experience with mental health and/or addictions recovery
  • Strongly preferred: professional program development experience; supervision experience; advanced mental health degree; and/or understanding of funding mechanisms supporting non-profit agencies.
  • Ability to engage well with employees at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated effective communication skills and ability to maintain a cooperative working relationship with others in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with federal, state and/or funding source requirements.
  • Good computer skills including a functional knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Ability to learn proprietary software.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Trauma Informed Care perspectives.
  • Requires access to a car and valid driver's license.
