After-School Nanny | Two Elementary-Age Children Lifetime of Love Nannies-NC | Carrboro, NC
Position Overview
Lifetime of Love Nannies-NC is seeking a warm, active, and dependable after-school nanny for a close-knit family of four in Carrboro. Both parents work full-time and are looking for someone who will slide naturally into their family rhythm, embrace their kids' creative and playful spirits, and provide consistent, caring afternoon support. This is a wonderful role for someone who loves imaginative play, art, and being part of a real neighborhood community.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 2:00–6:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- School pickup and drop-off for two children (ages 7 and 9)
- Supervise and engage children in after-school activities — art projects, Legos, pretend play, and outdoor time in a highly walkable neighborhood
- Support homework time and encourage a love of learning across all forms — scholastic, physical, and creative
- Prepare and monitor allergy-safe snacks; all food must be checked against the family's provided allergy list, and allergy packs must accompany any outings
- No screen time until parents are home and making dinner
- Light household tasks including:
- Loading/unloading and putting away dishes
- Emptying lunch and snack boxes from backpacks into the dishwasher
- Folding clean children's clothing if time allows (children are responsible for putting their own clothes away with nanny oversight)
- Children's laundry as needed
- Guide children through conflict resolution using the family's approach: separating to calm down, discussing perspectives, and encouraging apologies — no bullying, name-calling, or excessive teasing
Requirements
- Prior experience caring for elementary-age children
- Comfort managing and checking for food and environmental allergies
- Patient, playful, and creative — art and imaginative play are the way to this family's kids' hearts
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license for school pickup/drop-off
- CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
- Respectful of family values around screen time, discipline, and modest dress standards
- Long-term minded and community oriented
Why This Role
This family has been rooted in their Carrboro neighborhood for a decade — they know their neighbors, walk to friends' homes, and genuinely value community. They're looking for a nanny who feels that same pull toward connection and consistency. If you love creative kids, a lively afternoon routine, and being part of something that actually feels like a village, this one's for you.
