Key Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet patients and visitors, creating a welcoming environment.
- Manage front desk operations, including appointment scheduling and phone call handling.
- Accurately document patient information using optical terminology and ICD-10 coding.
- Process medical billing and perform insurance verification for patient visits.
- Maintain and update patient records with accuracy.
- Perform various clerical tasks such as typing, data entry, and managing paperwork.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and communicate billing information clearly.
- Keep the front desk area clean and organized.
- Work collaboratively with the team to deliver outstanding patient care.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in an optometry clinic or medical office setting.
- Familiarity with optical terminology and ICD-10 coding.
- Proficiency with medical billing software (Revolution EHR preferred).
- Strong administrative and clerical skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Comfortable working in a seated position for extended periods.
- Accurate and efficient typing skills.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive patient information with discretion.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of clinic operations.
- Expertise with medical billing software, including Revolution EHR.
