Position Summary:
The Environmental Services Manager oversees the daily operation and assists with long-term planning of the Environmental Services Department. This position ensures all housekeeping, floor care, and laundry services are delivered safely, efficiently and in compliance with standards and regulatory requirements. Incumbent provides leadership in staffing, budgeting, compliance, and team and resident satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversees all departmental operations including housekeeping, floor care, and laundry services to maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors
- Develops and implements cleaning schedules, quality-assurance systems, and performance standards across all facilities
- Manages departmental budget, purchasing, and inventory control to ensure cost-effective operations
- Leads staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations to promote accountability and professional growth
- Conducts regular inspections and audits of all areas to ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and sanitation regulations
- Analyzes departmental data, identifies trends, and implements process improvements for efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Coordinates with other departments, administration, and vendors to ensure effective service delivery and problem resolution
- Maintains accurate records for regulatory inspections, work orders, vendor documentation, and safety reporting
- Prepares for annual surveys and ensures ongoing readiness through continuous compliance monitoring, ensuring that appropriate training is conducted
- Provides guidance and mentorship to Supervisors and staff to uphold organizational standards and mission values
Working Hours:
Working hours may include nights, weekends, holidays, early mornings and the ability to work and assist in inclement weather or other unforeseen events
General Qualifications:
- Ability to be able to read, write, and follow written and verbal directions
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in environmental services or management preferred.
- Minimum three to five years of progressive leadership experience in environmental services, hospitality, or healthcare.
- Strong organizational, budgeting, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams with integrity, professionalism, and effective communication.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to infection control, safety, and environmental sanitation.
- Proficient with computer systems for scheduling, reporting, and procurement functions.
- Ability to analyze data and provide suggestions for improvement
- May be required to drive a car or golf cart; valid driver's license may be required
Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
