Lifespan Counseling seeks a Director of Psychiatric Service - PMHNP to join our established practice and stay on the cutting edge with us as we grow.

Basic Duties of the APRN Include:
-Engaging, assessing and treating clients in a supportive multidisciplinary outpatient mental health clinic
-Coordinating with the treatment team, using excellent communication and documentation skills to complete clinical progress notes and record keeping
-Attend all-staff meetings to teach and learn from others
- Staff meetings and events as scheduled
- Some collateral work, such as managing refill requests. Support with pre authorization and other collateral support such as creating letters, sending documentation, is available through our dedicated on-site administrative team.

This role will work closely with an interdisciplinary team including the on-site mental health clinicians, clinical supervisors, and CEO.

Overview:
The Director of Psychiatric Services (DPS) is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing nursing operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and driving organizational excellence in a dynamic mental health and elevated services environment. The DPS will manage quality assurance, recruitment, retention, performance management, and the coordination of specialized services, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and/or ketamine therapy. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, accountability, and energy, with direct patient care responsibilities scaled based on administrative demands.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Nursing Leadership & Operations:
- Oversee daily nursing operations to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, organizational policies, and best practices.
- Develop and implement nursing protocols to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Foster a collaborative, supportive, and high-performing nursing team culture.
2. Quality Assurance:
- Design and manage quality assurance programs to monitor and improve clinical care standards.
- Track, analyze, and report clinical outcomes to executive leadership, identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices in all nursing and elevated services.
3. Recruitment & Retention:
- Lead recruitment efforts to attract top-tier nursing talent, including APRNs, PMHNPs, and support staff.
- Develop retention strategies, including professional development, mentorship, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Conduct workforce planning to align staffing with organizational needs.
4. Performance Management:
- Establish performance metrics for nursing staff and conduct regular evaluations.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and corrective action to ensure staff accountability and growth.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence.
5. Coordination of Elevated Services:
- Oversee the delivery of specialized services, including TMS and/or ketamine therapy, ensuring clinical efficacy and patient safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate elevated services into comprehensive care plans.
- Stay abreast of advancements in mental health treatments to guide program development.
6. Reporting & Outcome Tracking:
- Compile and present detailed reports on nursing operations, quality metrics, and patient outcomes to executive leadership.
- Utilize data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and enhance service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records for compliance and auditing purposes.
7. Direct Patient Care (Medication Management):
- Provide graduated levels of direct patient care units weekly based on administrative needs, leveraging expertise as an APRN/PMHNP. Coverage as needed for team leave and staffing levels.
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with organizational goals and clinical standards.
8. Autonomous Leadership:
- Operate with a high degree of independence, proactively addressing challenges and driving initiatives.
- Maintain accountability for nursing department performance and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Demonstrate energy and passion for advancing mental health care and team success.
Qualifications:
- Education & Licensure: Active Nebraska Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license with Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an APRN/PMHNP, with demonstrated leadership in a clinical setting.
Skills:
- Proven expertise in quality assurance, staff management, and clinical outcome tracking.
- Strong knowledge of TMS, ketamine therapy, or other innovative mental health treatments.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while maintaining accountability to executive leadership.
- High energy, adaptability, and commitment to patient care excellence.
- Preferred: Experience in recruitment, retention strategies, and performance management in a healthcare setting.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with occasional extended hours.
- Capacity to balance administrative duties with direct patient care as needed.
