What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Accountant position at LifeSci Partners?
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support our day-to-day accounting operations. This role will play a key part in accounts payable and receivable processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end close activities.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, is highly organized, and is comfortable working with financial systems and data entry. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of accounting while collaborating with a dynamic finance team. Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Enter customer payments and ensure accurate application to invoices
- Support other accounts receivable processes and activities as assigned
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Enter bills and process AP payments made outside of NetSuite
- Set up and maintain vendor accounts in NetSuite
- Handle vendor-related requests, such as requesting W9s, verifying banking details and completing basic vendor forms
- Prepare 1099s and other required tax-related documentation
Reconciliations & Expense Management:
- Assist with month-end reconciliations, including bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts
General Accounting Support:
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry of financial transactions
- Support the maintenance of organized financial records and related documentation
- Assist in ad hoc requests and special projects
Qualifications & Skills
- 0-3 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Accounting internship experience preferred
- Strong understanding of the fundamentals and ethics of accounting
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with NetSuite is a plus)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with clients and vendors professionally
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
