About the Role
Lifescale Analytics is seeking a highly experienced Senior Linux Systems Engineer to support the stability, security, and performance of a large-scale Red Hat Linux environment. You will play a key role in managing approximately 300 Linux servers, ensuring they run efficiently, securely, and reliably.

This is an onsite position only. Remote/telecommuting options are not available, and relocation/travel assistance is not provided.

What You’ll Do
- Administer, maintain, and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8/9 servers across a 300-server environment
- Perform OS patching, system tuning, and overall Linux platform maintenance
- Standardize and automate system operations wherever possible
- Ensure compliance with strict PCI and internal security standards
- Remediate OS vulnerabilities (Secunia) and ensure audit readiness
- Troubleshoot performance and system issues to minimize downtime
- Support quarterly patch cycles and hardware/software upgrade initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and business clients
- Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule
- Document processes, configurations, and solutions
- Contribute to research, evaluation, and integration of emerging technologies
- Perform additional engineering, integration, and operational tasks as assigned
Required Technical Skills:
- 10 years of Linux/UNIX systems administration experience
- Experience with RHEL Linux 8/9 administration/patch management
- Experienced with Linux Server builds and custom configurations
- Performance tuning of Oracle database servers
- Hands-on experience with Server Security vulnerability management
- SolarWinds monitoring
- Strong background with Ansible (playbooks Automation Platform)
- Experience managing and upgrading Satellite 6
- Solid knowledge of VMware in operational environments
- Strong automation mindset
- Server migration experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking, topologies, and firewalled environments

- Understanding of applications like JBoss, WebSphere, Splunk and HP ALM.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field — OR equivalent professional experience
